The 16th edition is scheduled from December 11th to the 13th 2020.
Stefano Raimondi is the new Artistic Director of ArtVerona, the modern and contemporary art fair, the upcoming edition of which will be held at Veronafiere in 2020, from December the 11th to the 13th.
«The choice of Veronafiere has fallen on Stefano Raimondi, an art curator who can boast strong relations with national and international art systems and with Italian and foreign collectors», explains Maurizio Danese President of Veronafiere S.p.A. «Our goal is to pursue the enhancement of the value of Modern and Contemporary Art and the extension of the research and experimentation approach of ArtVerona, an event that over the years has achieved a high position that is increasingly being reinforced within the fabric of national entrepreneurship».
In the design guidelines of the new artistic direction, ArtVerona is seen as a Fair that is growing increasingly more capable in tackling ‘emerging’ themes pertaining to the social and cultural profile of the contemporary world – a sustainable, technologically innovative and inclusive fair.
«Starting from and keeping a steady grasp on its strong identity, in tune with the Italian cultural system, I imagine ArtVerona in a new dimension, in dialogue with the world and in close relationship with the context in which it interacts, capable of questioning itself on the central issues of our contemporary world» claims Stefano Raimondi, the youngest ever appointed artistic director of ArtVerona. «A revolution based on continuity. A fair that pays attention to the accessibility of the artistic assets it presents. A fair that functions as the artistic and social motor of the community and of the city that hosts it and with which it dialogues, fearlessly travelling the path of scientific and technological innovation, availing itself of the skills and resources of the major enterprises of the region it operates in. A fair capable of dialoguing with all gallery managers, collectors, journalists, institutions and firms, presenting a well-defined exhibition and curatorial line. A fair open to everyone, observant of history but with a sweeping impulsion towards the new, capable of communicating and of promoting modern and contemporary art on many levels. A familiar, exciting, ambitious institution. A point of reference for many generations and audiences. Brimming at all levels with quality and research, ideas and projects, objectives and enthusiasm. A fair with a precise identity and recognised by the international art community».
Stefano Raimondi steps in after Adriana Polveroni whom Veronafiere wishes to thank for the contribution she has given to the growth of ArtVerona by placing at this event’s disposal her long-standing experience and knowledge of the art system.
